"Russia.Poland- New Gaze" screenings in Tel Aviv

Four films realized under the "Russia – Poland. New-Gaze" have been presented in Tel Aviv on the 24th of April: "The Suburban Train", "My Kieslowski", "The Seeds", "About the Truth". The screening took place in the "Bina" club and had a non-commercial character. It was prepared by Diana Sorokin - a participant of the twin project "Israel – Poland. New Gaze."

The film "The First Day" (dir. Marcin Sauter) has been awarded at the "Belfast Film Festival" in Northern Ireland which ended on the 19th of April. The film received the "Maysles Brothers Award for Short Documentary".

"52 Percent"

"52 Percent" nominated for the "OFFskar" award

OFFskar’s are the awards of the Polish Independent Cinema awarded by the OFF FILM ACADEMY – a body of professionals ( filmmakers, journalists and producers) since 2005. In "52 Percent" dir. Rafał Skalski was nominated in this years edition. The films nominated for the OFFskar award were presented between the 16-17 of April (Wednesday, Thursday), during the 7th International Independent Feature Film Festival "Oskariada" in the Warsaw movie theatre "Kinoteka". On the 20th of April (Sunday) the official OFFskar award ceremony took place.

"The First Day"

"52 Percent" and "The First Day" in Belfast

Between the 10-19 of April 2008 in Northern Ireland the "Belfast Film Festival" took place. The films "52 percent" and "The First Day" were invited to take part in the 3rd edition of the "Maysles Brothers Competition for Best Documentary". The competition concentrates on "sociologically-political" themes (including Reconciliation and Divided Societies; Ulster Protestant Identity on Film; Film-makers; Human Rights and Film; Racism, Community and Film).

"The First Day" Qualified for the "Contact" Festival in Kiev

"The First Day" dir. Marcin Sauter was qualified for the short film competition at this years 4th Ukrainian International Documentary Film Festival "Contact", which took place in Kiev between the 13-19 of April 2008.
