About "Kites" in Gazeta Wyborcza

On Gazeta Wyborcza’s (Polish daily newspaper) webpage an article is available summing up the VIII International Film Festival WATCH DOCS. Human Rights In Film and also describing the winning films. The author of the article Tadeusz Sobolewski dedicated a few paragraphs to Beata Dzianowicz’s film "Kites" which won the audience award at the festival.

In the issue 62-63 (summer – fall 2008) of "Kwartalnik Filmowy"(Film Quarterly) issued by the Institute of Arts of the Polish Academy of Science and article by Sławomir Sikora entitled "In the eyes of others. Between science and social practice" has been published. The article concentrates on ways to describe cultures in film. An important part of the article is an overview of Beata Dzianowicz’s film "Kites", showing film workshops for students of the artistic school in Kabul.
"Kites" Awarded at the Watch Docs Festival

Beata Dzianowicz’s film "Kites" has received the Audience Award at the VIII International Watch Docs Film Festival Human Rights in Film which took place between the 5-14 of December 2008 in Warsaw. The prizes have been awarded on the 14th of December at the closing gala in Warsaw’s "Muranów" cinema theatre.

Between the 5-15 of December 2008 the VIII International Film Festival WATCH DOCS. Human Rights In Film took place. In the repertoire section "New Polish Films", Beata Dzianowicz’s film "Kites" was shown. The screening took place twice: on Monday, December 8 at 6:00 PM in the Educational screening room at the Modern Art Center at the Ujazdowski Castle and on Saturday the 13th of December at 5:00 PM at the Laboratory screening room in the MAC. After the second screening there was a meeting with the director Beata Dzianowicz and the producer of the film Krzysztof Kopczyński.

"52 Percent" at the ArtDoc festival in London

Between the 18th of November and the 6th of December 2008 the ArtDoc festival in London took place and Rafał Skalski's film "52 Percent" took part in it. The festival was organized by the European Commission and the Cultural Institutes of countries which are members of the European Union. The films were screened in London’s cinemas and galleries (Renoir Cinema, ICA, Institut Francais Cinema and the Goethe Institut). "52 Percent" was shown 25th November at 7.30 PM.
