"The First Day" and "Stone Silence" awarded in Kiev

At the 5th International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival "Docudays" which ended on the 4th of April in Kiev, two films "The First Day" directed by Marcin Sauter and "Stone Silence" directed by Krzysztof Kopczynski have been awarded.
Marcin Sauter’s film received one of the two main prizes for "laconically capturing the subject of national identity in the post-soviet space". It is the 7th prize this film has received, it took part in several festivals around the world and will be screened in the nearest feature at the following: "Doc Aviv", "Rozstaje Europy" in Lublin (Poland) and "Silverdocs" in ashington. The cinematography was realized by the director of the film, edited by Tymek Wiskirski. The film was co-produced by TVP S.A, and co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
Krzysztof Kopczynski’s documentary debut has received the Special Mention Award for "high artistic picture value". The film who’s premiere took place in November 2007 has so far been awarded in Chicago and Leipzig. In the nearest future the film will be presented at festivals in Tel Aviv, Gdansk, Trento, Madrid, Uganda and "Planet Doc Review" in Warsaw. The cinematography was done by Jacek Petrycki and Hanna Polak, edited by Anna Dymek. The film was co-produced by TVP S.A and Society Films, co-financed by the Polish Film Institute.
Rafal Skalski’s film "52 percent" also took part in the festival competition (co-produced by PWSFTViT in Lodz, TVP S.A, co-financed by the Polish Film Institute. Like "The First Day", the film was made under the "Russia and Poland. New Gaze" project, 2nd edition. The project was realized by Eureka Media and Adam Mickiewicz Institute with the support of Polish and Russian film schools and the financial support of the Polish Film Institute.
Krzysztof Kopczynski is the producer of all three films (Eureka Media). The films produced by the four person Eureka Media team have been presented for the past two years at more then 100 festivals, on 5 continents and have received more then 50 Awards.
