"Traces" - Description

Oświęcim - near this small town, where former concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau was situated, Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum is located. The citizens of Oświęcim clearly distinguish Oświęcim from Auschwitz, the city from the concentration camp. Two characters of the film are Oświęcim citizens and at the same time employees of the museum Auschwitz-1. Everyday they watch hundreds of tourists who will always remember the day in Auschwitz. But for the heroes of the film it’s just another day of work. Same as every other.

The film was made within the confines of the project “Russia-Poland. New gaze” (first edition) created by The Adam Mickiewicz Institute and Eureka Media with the support of The Polish Film Institute.
